The basics, in plain English.

These terms govern your use of the SolarROI iOS app ("the app") and the SolarROI Pro subscription. By installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please uninstall the app.

Who can use SolarROI

SolarROI is built for solar contractors and sales professionals. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use it. The app is not directed at children.

License

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, subject to these terms and the Apple Media Services Terms (the standard "EULA" you accept when you install any App Store app). You may not copy, modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app or its components.

SolarROI Pro subscription

SolarROI is free to use with a small project limit. SolarROI Pro is an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks unlimited projects, watermark-free PDFs, and custom watermarks.

• Price and period. SolarROI Pro is currently $4.99 USD per month. Pricing in other regions is shown by Apple at the time of purchase and may vary.
• Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Apple processes the entire transaction; we never see your payment details.
• Auto-renewal. The subscription renews automatically for the same period at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges your Apple ID for the renewal.
• Managing or cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in Settings → [your Apple ID] → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period continues until it expires.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under their refund policy. We can't issue refunds directly. To request one, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Price changes. If we change the subscription price, Apple will notify you and ask you to consent before the new price takes effect.

Estimates, not advice

SolarROI produces estimates. The financial, production, and savings figures the app calculates are modeled projections — they are not a guarantee of actual system performance, savings, payback, tax outcome, or system cost. Many real-world factors (weather, shading, roof condition, utility rate changes, installation specifics, tax situation) affect actual results. SolarROI is not a substitute for professional engineering, financial, tax, or legal advice. Before relying on a SolarROI proposal for a customer commitment, verify the inputs and consult the appropriate qualified professional.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for anything you communicate to your customers based on the app's output.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose, or to deceive or defraud your customers.
• Misrepresent the app's output as a binding offer, contract, guarantee, or as the work of a licensed engineer or financial advisor when it isn't.
• Attempt to interfere with the app, the NREL PVWatts service, or Apple's services through automated abuse, scraping at scale, or circumvention of subscription gating.

Third-party services

The app integrates with two services described in our privacy policy: Apple (for geocoding addresses and processing the subscription) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's PVWatts v8 API (for production estimates). Your use of those features is also subject to the providers' own terms. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or changes in those upstream services.

Intellectual property

The SolarROI app, its name, logo, design, and source code are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law. Your contractor profile, customer projects, and any content you create with the app remain yours.

Disclaimers and liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, or lost business arising out of or related to your use of the app — including any reliance on the app's estimates.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty or liability limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. In that case, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using the app and cancel SolarROI Pro at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms. On termination, the license above ends and you must stop using the app, but the disclaimers and liability sections survive.

Changes to these terms

If we materially change these terms, we'll update this page and bump the date at the top. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Relationship to Apple's terms

SolarROI is distributed exclusively through Apple's App Store. Your use of the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple's standard EULA") and Apple's Media Services Terms. Where these terms are silent, Apple's standard EULA applies. Where these terms conflict with Apple's standard EULA on a topic Apple addresses (such as the scope of license or the manner in which the app is distributed), Apple's terms control as required by Apple's developer agreement.
